Philadelphia L&I Investigate Deck Collapse

Philadelphia police and fire officials are investigating the cause of a deck collapse that left several people injured including a 3-month-old baby. Just before 5:30 p.m. fire officials were called to a home on the 7900 block of Michener Avenue in the Cedarbrook section of the city for reports of a collapse. When officials arrived they discovered that the rear deck from the home appeared to have buckled under the weight of its occupants and fallen about 20 feet to the ground.

Huge Turnout For Philly's Red Bull Flugtag

There was a huge turnout at the Delaware Waterfront Saturday afternoon to watch the Red Bull Flugtag, an event that features contestants who attempt to take flight off using man-made planes. According to Red Bull's website "Flugtag, which means "flying day" in German, pushes the envelope of human-powered flight, but competitors need more than airtime to reach the podium."

FBI, Philadelphia Police Seek Bank Robber In conjunction with federal agents, the Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a bank robbery suspect. Just after 12:30 p.m on Friday afternoon, an unidentified man entered the PNC Bank branch located on the 3500 block of Market Street and presented a threatening demand note to one of the tellers.

Brothers Sentenced For Putting Spikes On NJ Roads

Two brothers who admitted placing tire spikes on the pavement of southern New Jersey highways have been sentenced to probation. Michael and Justin Hinrichsen also must each perform 40 hours of community service and pay $500 in restitution under the sentences imposed Friday. They also must testify, if necessary, against two other men charged in the case.
